INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
EXCHANGE SESSION ON TECHNOLOGY
AND INNOVATION IN THE CLIMATE
RESILIENCE PROCESS

The “International Experience Exchange Session on Technology and Innovation in the Climate Resilience Process” was held on 7 June 2022 under the Business Climate Resilience Project which was designed based on the private sector’s need to develop awareness, preparedness and response capacities in order to ensure the comprehension of climate-induced risks and adaptation of existing production systems, and carried out by the Business for Goals (B4G) Platform with the support of the Connecting Business Initiative (CBi).

The role of technology and innovation in the process of enhancing climate resilience was addressed in two separate sessions in which national and international experiences were shared.

As part of the session, private sector and international institution representatives from different countries, including Miyammoto International Türkiye Director Yusuf Zahit Gündoğdu, GSMA Strategic Partnerships Director Isaac Kwamy, and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Data Manager Anthony Burke, promoted best practices on the implementation of innovation and technologies in disaster risk management. Furthermore, a discussion forum for the lessons learned on the implementation of innovative and technological solutions in disaster management was established, as well as providing the business world and CBi membership networks with an opportunity to network with solution providers to industrial problems.
